Transformers Restaurant - New Restaurant
In 2020, after the pandemic, we were not allowed to go to the restaurant. It is not simply prohibited from eating outside. Social connections between people are banned. Under these circumstances, restaurants should no longer be a fixed space. My project proposes a variable space to provide solutions using a variable space that can respond to the new era.
The new restaurant used a modular structure. The installation structure becomes one module. Walls can sometimes be used as various spaces, such as roofs that prevent sunlight and rain, boundaries that create social distancing between people, and terraces. Furthermore, the interior walls are constructed transparently, creating an atmosphere in which they can communicate visually with others. Also, the interior can be customized according to individuals, so it can have various designs.
One module can be used as a dining space, and when multiple modules are combined, it can also be used as a kitchen space. This is not only for social exchange, but also for many restaurants that are closed for economic reasons.
These modules can also be used in small areas, large areas of existing restaurants, or outside squares, and narrow streets. It has the potential and practicality for the scalability of space by breaking the boundaries between interior and exterior space.
As a result of this project, restaurants will become more variable spaces and will be used sustainably in any future era. This means that under any circumstances we can eat, celebrate and gather while ensuring safety.
