Since the origin of humankind , the sea has been a fundamental part of the history, provider of food and founder of cities, it has led to the discovery of continents and is by far the world´s main communicator. This is why the concept of this project is the connection through the sea and the sent message from Veracruz to the world. The memorial will be dedicated to all the people of the world without distinction who have been affected in some way by COVID-19, by creating an atmosphere of peace and calm, so people can remember and think in those they miss.
The project it is located in Veracruz, at Marti Beach, since it has been one of the most affected cities in Mexico by Covid-19, with more tan 30,000 positive cases and with more tan 3,800 deaths until September 2020.
The memorial consists in a circular plataform, suspended by columns over the sea, in the center of the plataform is an open space, that in allong the edge of the circle is the principal element of the project, a fountain that will be continuously fed with seawater overflowing the water back to the sea by the open space causing a courtain of water that eventually ends up at the sea. The panels installed on the plataform are encripted by the names of those who were presented demise by Covid-19 in the state of Veracruz. Part of the plataform´s floor is made of tempered glass so people can step on it and feel and see the direct connection with the sea.
As the concept is the communication through the sea and how to send a message to the hole world through it, the seawater itself will be the passage in which people can emit their feelings, emotions, prayers and wishes to the wole world across the tides of the ocean.
