This memorial was made to commemorate and reflect on the lives we lost due to Covid-19. It is located underneath the Manhattan Bridge in New York City and is accessible through Brooklyn Bridge Park. The memorial is a glass platform (accessible by a ramp), which has a pond in the center that reflects these strings that are suspended from the bottom of the bridge with crystal balls attached to them. These crystal balls have the names engraved of those who have passed away. At night there are several little lights that illuminate the crystal balls, and of course the vibrance of the city adds to that as well. This memorial is meant to be a serene, reflective place, remembering those who we lost and celebrating their lives through commemoration.
